Shop Tops

Cinco de Mayo inspired me to look for more bright colors to incorporate into my closet. Now that the sun is shining it will be the perfect weather to show off some fun, bold looks.

1. French connection This tops screams summer and hosts a variety of bright colors that will attract attention. Pair with skinny blue or white jeans, metallic or brown sandals, and loads of bracelets.

2. JCrew This top works well for work with a blazer or cardigan. Or, for non-work events pair with a belt or with skinny jeans and wedges, this top is a great color for all skin types.

3. Forever 21 If you need just a solid colored silk top, this one is perfect for the price. Paired with any type of outfit, this top would look great with layered long necklaces or fun oversized earrings. If its cool outside, pair with a bright colored scarf and jeans.

4. BCBG This top is extremely dressy and sexy. If you wear it as styled in the picture, it would look great because it is meant to be cut low with fitted pants. If you don't feel like wearing pants, pair this top with a pencil skirt and cami for the office. Gold jewelry looks great with this particular color.

5. Rachel Roy While this isn't a top, it is a great piece for your wardrobe. Paired by itself with gladiator sandals for day, or strappy heeled sandals and a long cardigan for evening. This is a fun, festive romper.

High-Style Reunion

Last night at dinner, my friends and I were talking about what you wear to a reunion. Do you air on the conservative side as not to look like you are trying to hard? Or, do you put on your snazzy best to feel more confident? I racked my brain to find some outfits that would maybe do both..... These oufits could also work as a "Wednesday night before Thanksgiving" looks to reconnect with old buddies.

1. Bloomingdales- My friend Sarah suggested a sweater-dress and I thought it was a fantastic choice. This one would look great with a wide cinched belt (see below post) and black ankle boots. Large earrings and no necklace would also be a great touch.
2. Nordstrom- If you are one who prefers jeans, this top with a boyfriend blazer (see earlier post) or bright cardigan, would look great. Pair with dark skinny jeans and tall boots. Lots of bangles and large earrings are a must. This way, you can remove your outer layer and look cute in just the top.

3. Top Shop- A skirt can be an easy option. You could wear a plain tight black v-neck tucked in with black heels or boots. Or, you could put on a tight tank with a cropped black jacket (motorcycle style).

4. Piperlime- An easy, cute dress that would look great with fishnets and grey or black boots. A long pendant necklace and cocktail ring would look great too.

5. Urban Outfitters- Another top that you could easily wear with jeans or a skirt. It could be worn under a funky jacket or black sweater.

6. Akira- Lastly, a great option to wear with jeans, leggings, or dark tights. Over the knee flat boots, tall boots, or slouchy boots would look great in black, brown, or grey. Anything would go on top over it for warmth.

Happy Shopping!

Layers galore!

I know I am in a rut when I notice that my laundry consists of a million white tanks tops that have been worn under every blazer and sweater I own. Since I strive to change bad habits, I have searched for cute layering options that can be worn under pieces or by themselves.
P.S. Thank you to my technical support, Emma, for teaching me how to use titles as hyperlinks vs. copying the entire URL address. Yay for computer geniuses!

1. JCrew cute Ruffled Blouse Silk can be worn as dressy or casual based on what you wear over it. This top could be put under a suit or paired with a brightly colored sweater and jeans.

2. Alternative Apparel Burnout Tee I have endorsed Alternative Apparel Tees already (so soft and comfy), but this one has a vintage look that would look great with a blazer and huge necklace.

4. Patterson J. Kincaid Paige Top So I know this is a little pricey for a tank top, but it is super unique and would work well by itself or paired with anything on top.

5. Banana Republic Tank When you are just not feeling like getting ready, a silk racer-back tank (in black especially) a black cardigan, dark jeans and flats makes an easy yet stylish outfit.

6. Free People Top I thought this top would look great with a chunky bolero sweater because the armholes are cut a bit larger.

7. Forever 21 Sequined Tank Easy to throw a black top over.

8. Urban Outfitters top For parties, this top is amazing! Paired with a skirt (see earlier post on skirts) and a sequined blazer or embellished jacket, this would be a showstopper.
