Generation....

I love BCBG for great dresses and other items. Its sister brand, BCBG generation now has an online store and they have tons of cute finds for under $100. I've bought the line before and the quality is not disappointing. Also, just be aware that you may need one size up in the dresses/skirts because they run a tad short. Besides that, the options are endless....

1. Floral Print Dress

2. Maxi Dress

3. LBD

4. Printed Top

5. Skirt

6. Clutch

What Happens in Vegas.....

Every weekend seems to be filled with my friends flying off to Las Vegas for bachelorette parties these days. Given the frequency of these events, I thought I'd post some Vegas-worthy apparel for those who are preparing for a trip. Less is more in Vegas, but that doesn't mean you need to spend a ton on clothes you won't wear that often. Here are a few ideas:) Happy shopping and traveling!

1. Forever 21 First things first. Everyone knows the pool scene in Vegas requires some cute duds. This dress would be a perfect coverup to wear from hotel to pool, or from pool to shopping.

2. Aqua An easy black silk dress is perfect for vegas. You can add brightly colored heeled sandals, large jewelry, or a metallic skinny belt. If you want to look super chic, add a boyfriend blazer for dinner which you can remove for dancing later.

3. Akira On your last night in the city, you will probably have gathered a nice tan. This dress would look great after the pool, out on the town.

4. BCBG I own this skirt in black and it is one of my favorites. Paired with a simple black tank top and black shoes, it creates a sexy but classy look. Use a sleek black clutch and large earrings to complete the look.

5. BCBG generation At macys you can find the sister to BCBG with plenty of cute dresses and skirts at half the price. Pair an animal print dress with large bangles.

6. Urban outfitters Not too excited about showing your arms and stomach in vegas but want to look sexy? This dress is short and shows the leg, but is loose around other areas. It gives a "rocker" vibe and would look great with stacked heels.

High-Style Reunion

Last night at dinner, my friends and I were talking about what you wear to a reunion. Do you air on the conservative side as not to look like you are trying to hard? Or, do you put on your snazzy best to feel more confident? I racked my brain to find some outfits that would maybe do both..... These oufits could also work as a "Wednesday night before Thanksgiving" looks to reconnect with old buddies.

1. Bloomingdales- My friend Sarah suggested a sweater-dress and I thought it was a fantastic choice. This one would look great with a wide cinched belt (see below post) and black ankle boots. Large earrings and no necklace would also be a great touch.
2. Nordstrom- If you are one who prefers jeans, this top with a boyfriend blazer (see earlier post) or bright cardigan, would look great. Pair with dark skinny jeans and tall boots. Lots of bangles and large earrings are a must. This way, you can remove your outer layer and look cute in just the top.

3. Top Shop- A skirt can be an easy option. You could wear a plain tight black v-neck tucked in with black heels or boots. Or, you could put on a tight tank with a cropped black jacket (motorcycle style).

4. Piperlime- An easy, cute dress that would look great with fishnets and grey or black boots. A long pendant necklace and cocktail ring would look great too.

5. Urban Outfitters- Another top that you could easily wear with jeans or a skirt. It could be worn under a funky jacket or black sweater.

6. Akira- Lastly, a great option to wear with jeans, leggings, or dark tights. Over the knee flat boots, tall boots, or slouchy boots would look great in black, brown, or grey. Anything would go on top over it for warmth.

Happy Shopping!

Get your Groove on

Holiday parties are on the horizon. For those that are more fun and festive, dresses are a wonderful choice for the occasion. Now is a great time to scoop up a fun style to hold onto for your party season. Some of these choices may look like they are too chilly for winter, but throw on some fun tights (fishnet, opague), a sweater wrap/blazer, and glittery scarf and you will be fine.

A Slanted View

Given my excitement over the Zara store opening on Michigan Avenue this thursday (I will be there with bells on), I started to think about my favorite clothing item: dresses!! I am a huge fan of all types of dresses and lately I like assymetrical necklines (one shoulder). Even those of us who don't have Michelle Obama's arms can look cute in this style. Here are some cutes ones I've seen recently....
